FAQ
Any and all questions can be answered directly, but for many common questions or concerns, please reference below:
-
What is the training of a Physical Therapist?Becoming a Physical Therapist is no easy feat. It includes a comprehensive and extensive education. Admission into physical therapy school is competitive, to say the least. You must first get your Bachelors degree, followed by a 3 year Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Maintenance of Licensure also includes continuing education hours, completed every 2 years.
-
Do you take insurance? The physical therapy services provided are not covered by your In-Network provider. You may request a Superbill, and submit that to your insurance for possible Out-of-Network reimbursement. You may be able to use your HSA or flex spending account. Contact me for more information!
-
What is a Superbill?A Superbill is a detailed invoice documenting the services rendered. It has information that is required by your insurance for Out-of-Network (OON) benefits, such as: diagnosis (ICD 10) and physical therapy treatment (CPT) codes. You may then take it to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement for OON benefits. Reimbursement is dependent on your OON plan. Please contact me for more information on this process.

I have Medicare, can you treat me?Unfortunately, law does not permit cash based payment for Medicare beneficiaries if the services provided are covered by Medicare. What does that mean: You cannot be charged cash for physical therapy services from a provider that is not associated with Medicare, even if you choose to do so on your own. However, if you are receiving care for things such as: maintenance, wellness, fitness, or prevention, then services may be rendered. It should be noted that the services that are allowed to be rendered are not covered by Medicare benefits. You can pay out of pocket if you have been told you have hit your Medicare cap and the following services are for maintenance. Please contact Reignite Rehab for more details if this is the scenario you find yourself in.

What is the benefit of Out-of-Network therapy services?By not accepting insurance, it allows the therapist to spend the entire session in a one on one manner. There is no other client to focus on, but you. Care is individualized and this model allows for a more in-depth diagnosis and treatment plan. Each session will be conducted entirely by a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist and Doctor of Physical Therapy. Every question and interaction will be conducted solely with this healthcare provider, ensuring a speedy return to normalcy. Simply put: every exercise, stretch, or movement will be directly observed by a licensed professional, so you can feel confident that you are performing these tasks correctly, each and every time.

I have physical therapy benefits, why not go in-network?Every patient needs to decide what is best for them. We pay a lot of money for health care, so it makes sense that you may want to use those benefits. Unfortunately, with in-network providers, you often see your therapist for only 15-30 minutes. Their attention is often spread over multiple patients at once, and many patients are left spending the majority of their visit doing exercises independently or with a support staff member. Offices are often overbooked and understaffed. However, what matters most is that you get the care you want and deserve. Please contact me if you have further questions, or would like a possible referral to some In-Network providers.

Do I have to have an injury to have these services? No, we can come up with individualized wellness plans, aimed at improving any realm of fitness, health, or function.

What type of injuries do you treat? Do I need to see a different PT for different body parts?Physical Therapists are musculoskeletal experts. We treat all body parts and orthopedic injuries. This can range from spraining your ankle, to injuring your neck. Post operative rehabilitation and preventative injury or "prehab" is also conducted by a PT. We are considered movement experts. When your doctor puts you back together, we teach you how to move it again. I have experience with all levels of individuals, with a large variety in diagnoses. Anything ranging from more involved/high level treatments (like post-operative ACL rehabilitation) to lower level individuals (as with balance/gait treatment). I practice evidence based medicine, keeping current with research. This allows me to provide the most effective treatment interventions with confidence.
